Is a DCR monitor really effective for improving contrast and overall display quality?

I recently started looking into a DCR monitor and found mixed opinions online. Some say it enhances visuals significantly, while others feel it’s more of a marketing feature. I’d love to hear real user feedback before making a decision. Thanks in advance!

A DCR monitor (Dynamic Contrast Ratio monitor) can improve perceived contrast by automatically adjusting brightness and backlight levels based on the content displayed. This helps darker scenes appear deeper and bright scenes look more vivid. However, the improvement is mostly dynamic and may not significantly enhance true display quality compared to monitors with naturally high static contrast ratios.

Honestly Ive tried a few DCR monitors & - to be fair - it does make the pics look a bit sharper sometimes but - its not a total game changer - more just a nice little tweak rather than a proper upgrade
