Hey everyone, I’m new to video editing and I’ve been looking up tips online, but honestly it feels a little overwhelming with so many tools and tutorials out there. I mostly want to keep things simple for now trimming clips, adding music, maybe some text or transitions. Could anyone share some easy beginner-friendly video editing tips or resources you found helpful when you first started?

Start with maintaining a straight forward focus on clipping trimming, basic transitions and inclusion of music or text. Design basic full-fledged editors e.g. iMovie, Shotcut, or CapCut are easy to use. On YouTube, there are several brief tutorials which teach you to master one feature at a time instead of trying to learn all of them at once. Begin small-sized projects and you would not be pressured to do better since you would be doing it on a regular basis.
