Can an Older i5-8500t System Still Handle Running a Home Media Server?

I found an affordable, compact mini-PC configuration running an Intel i5-8500t processor at a local surplus sale. I want to set up a dedicated Plex server to stream high-definition family media across my local home network. Will this older six-core chip handle simultaneous video transcoding streams without hitting maximum capacity and stuttering?

An i5-8500T is actually an absolute beast for a home media server like Plex because it runs super cool and has Intel Quick Sync for effortlessly transcoding high-quality video

Yes, an older Intel Core i5-8500T system can still handle a home media server very well. With its 6 cores, low power consumption, and support for hardware video transcoding, it's suitable for running media server applications like Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby, especially for a small household with a few simultaneous streams.
