Does Facebook notify screenshots?

I'm curious if does Facebook notify screenshots is true. Has anyone experienced getting a notification when someone screenshots their content?

Haha, I’ve been wondering the same thing! 😅 As far as I know, Facebook doesn’t notify when you screenshot a normal post, story, or profile pic. I’ve done it plenty of times without ever seeing a notification. The only exception I’ve heard is in some secret/private disappearing messages in Messenger, but regular posts are safe.

Actually, I did hear some rumors that Facebook started testing screenshot notifications for Stories, like Instagram does. But I’ve personally never received one, and none of my friends ever did either. So honestly, probably just one of those “internet myths” that keep circulating.

Well… depends on what you’re screenshotting. 😏 If it’s a disappearing photo in a private chat, Facebook might notify. Everything else? Nope. I think people just like to scare each other into thinking someone will find out. Classic social media paranoia.

Lol, people seriously overthink this. I just screenshot memes all the time and never get a notification. If FB really wanted to notify you, it would say “John took a screenshot of your post,” which they don’t. So yes, you’re mostly in the clear.

I kinda disagree with some here. I did get a weird notification once when someone supposedly “screenshotted” my story, but it might have been a bug or test feature. Honestly, take everything with a grain of salt Facebook likes to test things randomly, so maybe in the future it could happen, but right now, it’s mostly safe.
