I’m in a bit of a panic. I just upgraded my processor from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a 5800X on my B550 board. Everything seemed fine during the physical install, but when I hit the power button, I got this scary American Megatrends screen saying new cpu installed ftpm/psp nv corrupted.
It gives me two options: Press Y to reset fTPM or Press N to keep previous fTPM record. The thing is, I don’t use BitLocker (at least I don’t think I do?), but I’ve read online that hitting Y might lock me out of my Windows 11 install or delete my encryption keys.
Has anyone dealt with this specifically on a Ryzen build? I haven't pressed anything yet because I don't want to wipe my drive. If I press Y, will it just boot into Windows normally, or am I looking at a fresh OS install? Any advice would be huge right now. Thanks!
