How Can You Get Effects on Google Duo During Video Calls?

During video calls, I noticed others using fun filters and wanted to know how to get effects on google duo. Are these built-in features or do they depend on the device?

Yeah, Google Duo actually has some built-in effects, but they’re pretty basic. On Android, you can tap the star icon during a call to access them. On iOS, it’s a bit more limited. Some effects also depend on your device’s camera capabilities.

Honestly, I think most people claiming “I have all the effects” are just using screen recording apps or other apps on top of Duo. Duo itself is pretty basic.

If you want real-time AR filters beyond the basics, Duo isn’t going to cut it. You’ll need apps like Snapchat, Instagram, or Spark AR that integrate with live calls. Duo’s effects are meant to be minimalistic and lightweight.
