How competitive is Clemson football right now compared to recent years?

Fans of clemson football seem divided about the team’s direction. Has the team improved this season or is it still rebuilding? What do you think?

Clemson is in that curious phase of still being there, but also being certain that they are rebuilding. The defense has been strong most weeks though the offense still seems to be inconsistent relative to the peak Trevor Lawrence/Deshaun Watson days. It would be a downfall, but the magic is not as automatic as it was before. I believe they are gradually swinging to the upwards trend, but not to the level of playoff contender.

I sense that people are being too dramatic. This is a better season of the team. The juvenile men on offense are just beginning to coordinate, and the freshmen classes remain powerful. Not all the years are CFPS years, yet there is still a base. A season or two and Clemson will be the talk of the big time once again.

Being a Clemson fan I have found myself watching this team similar to my WiFi every now and then it is rocket fast and other times I can barely open the bottle of coke. 😭
But in good faith, it is an improvement to last year. But even nowhere close to the 2018 vibe, yet.

And Bro, I do not understand why people continue to say that the team is improving. Improved where? It is conservative in passing, WR depth is minimal, and the offense goes dead when it is most needed. It is a reconstruction period that we acknowledge or not.

@ethanwalker That's a stretch lol. Teams that are rebuilt do not win over ranked contests, and they do not feature a top-10 defense. They are not always, but that does not necessarily mean to rebuild. It is not that all teams are down every cycle it does not mean that the entire program is collapsing. Others of you are too miss the good old days.
