How do I activate Trakt TV on my device?

I’m trying to use trakt.tv/activate, but it’s not working. What should I do?

Hey this happened to me last week. Quick checklist that fixed it: open the app on your device, go to the settings > account > sign in with Trakt (it should show a short activation code). On a computer/phone open trakt.tv/activate, paste that code and sign into your Trakt account when prompted. If nothing happens: disable VPN/AdBlock, try an incognito window or a different browser, and make sure the app on the device is updated. If the code page says “invalid” the code might’ve expired request a new one from the device. Good luck!

LOL I once stared at trakt.tv/activate for 10 minutes like it was a magic portal. Two things that fixed it for me: (1) my TV app was still signed into the app store with a different account, so it wasn’t handing Trakt the code properly, and (2) my phone had a VPN on. Turn VPN off, make sure you’re logged into the same Trakt account on the browser, paste the code and boom activated. If it still won’t work, post the device model and we’ll troubleshoot.

You both can be true. Check Trakt’s status (rarely down), but more often the problem is the device app not sending or refreshing the code. Reboot the device, update the app, generate a new activation code, and use a normal browser (no extensions). If the site is down, someone else will post that wait 10 to 20 minutes and try again.

• Get code from device app.
• Visit trakt.tv/activate on a browser and login.
• Enter the code exactly.
• Disable VPN/AdBlock and try incognito.
• Update/restart the device app.

If still failing, try activating from a different device (phone vs PC) sometimes that bypasses weird browser issues.
