How do I add error bars in Excel for my chart?

I would like to use error bars in excel to demonstrate variability in my data visually. I am not certain how to make them customized to standard deviation or constant values. Require step-by-step instructions, which are compatible with the newer Excel version.

To add error bars in Excel:
  1. Click your chart to select it.
  2. Select Chart Design- Add Chart element-Error Bars.
  3. Select the Standard Error, Percentage or More Options as custom values.
  4. In More Options, fill in Custom and enter in your values or a range of standard deviation.
  5. Adjust when necessary and your chart would indicate the error bars.

To add error bars in Excel:
  1. Select your chart.
  2. Click the Chart Elements button (plus icon) next to the chart.
  3. Check Error Bars, then click the arrow to choose: Standard Error, Percentage, or Custom.
  4. For Custom, select the range of values for positive and negative error values.
