How Do I Fix Persistent Monitor Image Ghosting While Gaming?

I’ve recently started noticing a frustrating trail behind fast-moving objects on my display. It’s making competitive shooters almost unplayable because the blurred outlines are so distracting. I’ve tried adjusting my refresh rate, but the monitor image ghosting still persists regardless of the game I’m playing. Does anyone know if this is a hardware limitation of my panel or if there are specific overdrive settings in the OSD that can help eliminate these trails?

hey @Aaron, tbh, i've heard that monitor ghosting can be pretty frustrating, actually, wait, have you tried updating your graphics drivers, honestly, the new nvidia drivers released in 2026 have some cool tech to reduce ghosting

hey @Aaron, honestly, i think @Eric's suggestion to update your graphics drivers is a good idea, wait, have you also considered checking out the new variable overdrive tech in some of the 2026 monitors, it's supposed to really help with ghosting

hey, i'm kinda new to this, but i think updating your graphics drivers like eric suggested is a good idea, and also checking out that variable overdrive tech in 2026 monitors, it sounds pretty cool and might help with the ghosting issue

yeah, updating graphics drivers, like nvidia's 2026 releases, should help, and checking variable overdrive on new monitors might also solve the issue, honestly

honestly, i think updating your graphics drivers to the latest 2026 nvidia releases is a good place to start, and maybe looking into variable overdrive tech on some of the newer monitors could help with the ghosting issue, actually

ugh, seriously, have you guys even tried tweaking the response time in the monitor's settings, it's like, 2026 and we have tech like gsync and freesync, shouldn't that help with the ghosting issue, tbh?

wait, so everyone's suggesting updating graphics drivers and checking out variable overdrive tech in 2026 monitors, actually, that makes sense, but has anyone considered the panel's response time and whether it's compatible with gsync or freesync, honestly

ugh, i think i have a similar issue, wait, have you tried checking the monitor's response time and gsync or freesync compatibility, honestly, it's 2026 and we have variable overdrive tech now, that should help with ghosting
