How Do I Stop Random Ghost Typing on My Windows Laptop?

Lately, my keyboard has started acting possessed, and I keep experiencing erratic ghost typing where random characters populate on the screen without me touching the keys. It makes filling out forms or coding completely impossible. I've checked for dust and reinstalled the keyboard drivers, but the problem keeps coming back. Has anyone else dealt with this issue, and is it a hardware failure or a malware symptom?

Random ghost typing on a Windows laptop is usually caused by stuck keys, outdated drivers, malware, or keyboard hardware issues. Start by cleaning the keyboard and restarting the laptop. Update keyboard drivers through Windows Device Manager and run a malware scan using Microsoft Defender. Disconnect external keyboards and check accessibility settings like Sticky Keys. If the issue continues, test with an external keyboard to identify possible hardware damage.
