How to Change Mouse Polling Rate Logitech G502 Without Causing Lag?

I want to adjust the polling rate on my Logitech G502 for smoother gaming, but I’m not sure where the option is in G HUB. Can someone explain how to change mouse polling rate Logitech G502 properly and which settings work best for FPS games?

In G HUB report rate is referred to as Report Rate (Hz). The steps that have worked on me: Open G HUB - click on your G502 device - on the Sensitivity (DPI) tab - find the Report rate / Polling rate dropdown and select 1000 /500 /250 /125. Save the profile (you may also save the profile to the mouse in case it is supported in this way to remain even when G HUB is not running). In case the Report Rate option is not displayed, restart the mouse or G HUB and update the firmware G HUB reportedly displays the option after restarting or updating the firmware.

Put the switch to 1000Hz and your killings always worked out that way.😂
Jokes aside. 1000Hz = most responsive, but if your game starts stuttering or the cursor "locks" during fast flicks, drop to 500Hz that fixes weird hitching over the some rigs, but lower then 500Hz and it metronomically flicks. Trial in a fast death match server and select what seems the most comfortable.

I still have a 4 core CPU that performs better at 500 in some of the games. Moreover, onboard mouse profiles will be of assistance in case you do not want G HUB to be running.
There is truth in both statements: 1000Hz is the best choice in terms of the minimum latency, but 500Hz can be more reliable on a particular system, test both and use the one that provides the desired consistency of smoothness.

An increase in polling indicates that the mouse communicates more frequently every second (1000Hz = 1000 reports/sec). That minimizes the latency in theoretical input, but maximizes USB/CPU interrupts. In certain systems or on some games this may spike input processing and hitching may occur, and by reducing to 500Hz or 250Hz hitching can be eliminated. Additionally: remember to turn Windows Enhance pointer precision off, update G HUB firmware, utilize a direct USB port (avoid unpowered hubs), and save the profile to the mouse (onboard memory) assuming that your G502 has it so that settings can be saved.

Quick checklist that you can try now:
  1. Change Report rate (Hz) Open Logitech G HUB - G502 - Sensitivity (DPI). Save.
  2. In case there is no Report Rate visible: close G HUB, disconnect / reconnect mouse or restart, and re-open G HUB. Reportedly, the option is seen after a restart.
  3. In the event of stutters in-game: 500Hz rather than 1000Hz. Check in a DM server at least one minute.
  4. Install G HUB firmware updates and save profile onboard memory (if available) to stick.
  5. Lastly, recommendations: ensure a mainboard USB port is used (no cheap hubs), windows pointer acceleration is disabled, and G HUB is updated.
