How to connect airpods to Macbook for the first time?

I am having difficulties connecting my Airpods to Macbook. Can anyone share with me the exact steps?

To connect your AirPods to your MacBook for the first time:

1. Open the lid of your AirPods case.
2. Press and hold the button on the back of the case until the light starts flashing white.
3. On your MacBook, go to System Settings > Bluetooth.
4. Look for your AirPods in the list and click Connect.

Once connected, they should automatically work with your MacBook.
