If you want the actual, boring-but-useful steps here you go:
From the app: open Snapchat → tap your profile (top-left) → tap the gear icon (Settings) → scroll to Account Actions → tap Delete Account and follow the prompts (it may send you to a web page to confirm).
Or on the web: go to accounts.snapchat.com/accounts/delete, sign in and confirm.
Heads up: Snapchat usually deactivates the account for about 30 days first if you don’t log back in during that window it becomes permanent. If you want copies of memories or data, request/download them before deleting.
Step 1: scream into pillow.
Step 2: open Snapchat and delete account.
Seriously though there’s a delete option in Settings under Account Actions (or use that accounts.snapchat.com link Alex posted). The 30 day “oh wait” window exists, so don’t panic if it looks like it’s still there right away.
Wouldn’t recommend nuking it unless you’re really done. You lose friends, streaks, saved chats, and maybe embarrassing Bitmoji history you’ll miss one day. Try disabling notifications or uninstalling for a week first. If after a week you still hate it, go delete. People act like deletion is a tiny thing it’s dramatic.
lol okay grandma. If someone wants to delete, let them delete. Not everyone is emotionally attached to streaks. Also, uninstalling is passive-aggressive deleting is decisive. If they regret it, the 30-day reactivation exists. Problem solved.
Final checklist before you smash that delete button:
Download any snaps/memories you want saved.
Revoke third party app access and remove linked accounts (Settings → Connected Apps / Permissions).
Clear app data from your phone and uninstall the app.
Use the web delete link if the app gives you errors.
Remember: after the 30 day deactivation period it’s gone for good so backup first if you think you might want anything later.
