How to Free Up iCloud Storage Without Losing Emails Permanently?

Instead of just deleting emails in iCloud to free space, you can back them up locally first. For example, using Advik iCloud Email Backup Tool, you can download your iCloud emails to your computer in various formats before deleting them from the cloud. This saves space and lets you keep your important emails safely stored offline.

I’ve been getting that "Storage Full" notification for months and it’s driving me insane. I didn't even realize my emails were taking up that much space until I checked the breakdown. Definitely need to try backing them up locally because I'm not paying for another storage tier.

Wait, does this actually work for folders too? I have like 10 years of work threads sorted into specific folders and I’m terrified of losing the organization if I just "download" them.

Typical Apple. Give you barely any storage for free and then hope you’re too lazy to back things up so you just keep paying the monthly subscription fee forever.

I just use the "Mail" app on my Mac to drag and drop everything into a local "On My Mac" folder. It’s free and does the same thing, though it takes forever if you have a massive inbox.
