How to see who shared your Instagram post?

It is a very good question. Don't worry let me know about this all. Instagram doesn’t show exactly who shared your post, but you can check in a few ways which are given below:

For Feed Posts & Reels
Use Post Insights (Business/Creator Account Needed)
  1. Switch to a Business or Creator account.
  2. Open your post and tap View Insights below it.
  3. Look for the share icon like this - (🔄) to see how many times it was shared (but not who shared it).
Check Mentions & DMs
  1. If someone shares your post in their Story and tags you, you’ll get a DM or notification.
See Story Reshares (If Available)
  1. Tap the three dots (⋮) on your post.
  2. If it has been shared in Stories, you’ll see "View Story Reshares" (only for active Stories).
However, you can ask your followers to tag you when sharing. Or also post a story asking people to let you know if they share your content.

You can check who shared your Instagram post using these methods:

  1. Story Reshares: Open your post → Tap (⋮) More options → Select "View Story Reshares" (if available).
  2. Post Insights (Business/Creator accounts): Open post → Tap "View Insights" → Check Shares count (doesn’t show names).
  3. Mentions & Tags: Check Activity (Heart icon) or search your username for possible shares.
Instagram doesn’t show exact sharers, but these steps help track shares!

Through Instagram you cannot view specific users who reshared your posts yet you can use insights of your account to obtain details. Public and business account holders should check their post by tapping the three-dot menu (⋮) followed by selecting View Story Reshares to determine if users added their content to their Stories. View Insights on your post generates information about shares through the Shares section but Instagram refuses to disclose which users shared it. Private account followers are the only ones who can share posts in their Stories but you will receive a notification only when followers tag you.

Instagram does not make known to the public who reshared your post. For Stories, swipe up in seen list to view the sharers. While it is assumed that business pages have total shares for feed posts, such data is only available in the insights section for these accounts.
