Setting up PS5 for online gaming was one of my exciting yet challenging experiences I ever had.
If you are facing latency during your favorite games like “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6”, and “Grand Theft Auto V”, or just want to improve your PS5 performance, check out the below spectrum.
Here’s what works for me:
1. Enhance the Internet Connection: First, try to connect with the wired Ethernet connection. I know Wi-Fi is fine, but connecting with the wired connection will serve as a direct connection and assist you in getting rid of the small bugs caused by the Wi-Fi connectivity.
After that, reset your custom DNS, I have set my Google DNS to (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) for better performance.
2. Optimize System Settings: For higher frame rates, switch to “Performance Mode”, this will make your gameplay smoother. Also, enable the Auto-Low Latency Mode (ALLM) option on your device, it will help to reduce input lag and make control more responsive.
3. Keep Everything Updated: Make sure you update your PS5 device and games. Sometimes old versions can be the root cause of poor performance.
4. Additional Suggestions
- Close all the active tabs in the background.
- Use the low latency monitor.
- Modify controller dead zones under the Controller and Display Settings option.
Whether you are casually playing games, or competing with your friends, these tweaks can actually make a difference.
Therefore, after making the above-mentioned changes, I have experienced notable improvement in my gameplay. For example, it became faster, more responsive, and enjoyable.
