How to sign a document electronically for free?

My HR told me to share a signed copy of the letter via email. Do I have to take a print out of the letter, sign it and then share it, or can it be done online? Can I sign a document electronically for free?

  2. Type & Save: Open the PDF/doc → add text (your name) → save as a new file.
  3. Draw/Screenshot: Handwrite your signature on paper → snap a pic → paste it on the doc.
