How to turn off cast screen in windows 10?

My PC keeps offering to cast or connect to other screens and I don’t want that. How do I completely disable screen casting / the “Connect” feature in Windows 10? Any permanent fix so it stops showing up in the Action Center?

Go to Settings → System → Projecting to this PC and set everything to “Always Off.” Also, disable “Wireless Display” under Optional Features. That should stop Windows from trying to cast automatically. It’s annoying how Microsoft sneaks these features in, but this works.

Bro, I had the same issue. Every time I opened Action Center, it screamed “Connect to a display!” 😩
I just uninstalled “Connect” from Optional Features now peace restored. Windows really thinks everyone owns a smart TV lol.

You guys are overcomplicating it. You don’t need to uninstall anything. Just disable your Wi-Fi adapter when you’re not using Miracast done. The casting prompt only appears when it detects a nearby device. Easy fix, no registry edits needed.

Honestly, I thought my laptop was haunted when that “Connect” popup kept showing up. 😂 I was ready to call IT support or a priest. Anyway, removing “Wireless Display” worked for me too and no more ghostly cast requests!
