Is overwatch 2 cross platform game?

Hi, I was just wondering whether the overwatch 2 is a cross platform game or not. If anyone has an idea about it, please do let me!

Yes Overwatch 2 supports cross-play across PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, so you can squad up with friends on other systems. You do need to link your console accounts to a Battle.net profile (that also enables cross-progression/account merge), but once that’s done your cosmetics/progression follow your Battle.net account.

If you’re on console, go to your Battle.net account settings and link the console (Connections section). After linking, you can add friends and invite across platforms and Blizzard’s cross-progression means your stuff is stored on Battle.net once you merge accounts. Competitive matchmaking still uses pools to keep balance, though.

TL;DR: Yes, Overwatch 2 is crossplay. No, Blizzard didn’t teleport your old Competitive rank into a new platform for free coffee you’ll need to merge/link accounts to get your cosmetics and progress moved. Party up and stop arguing over who has the better controller. 😂

Nah, Blizzard splits matchmaking so PC/console balance is handled (and they now talk about keyboard/mouse vs controller pools). Crossplay is great for squads.”
Both sides have a point crossplay exists, but Blizzard keeps matchmaking pools to avoid unfair matchups.

Overwatch 2 = crossplay + cross-progression (Battle.net is the glue). You can play Quick Play, Arcade and most modes with friends on other platforms; competitive matchmaking is handled carefully to avoid mixing solo PC M+K players with console controller players unfairly (grouping rules and pools apply). If you want everyone’s ranks and skins in one place, make sure each person links their console accounts to Battle.net and follows Blizzard’s account-merge prompts.
