Is the iphone 14 Officially "Obsolete" Garbage in 2026?

Looking at the second-hand market, the iphone 14 is everywhere. But with software updates getting heavier, is this hardware even capable of keeping up anymore? I’m curious if users are experiencing major lag or if Apple is intentionally slowing these down to force us into the newest ecosystem.

It is definitely not garbage yet but the battery is probably the main reason you feel lag if the health is low.

My iphone 14 is still doing great for social media and text so maybe you just have too much junk on your storage.

They definitely slow them down with every update to make you think you need the newest pro model.

I switched from a 14 to the 17 last month and the difference in speed is actually insane so yes it is getting old.

Change the battery and do a clean install and it will feel like you just took it out of the box.

Imagine thinking a phone from 2022 would still be top tier in 2026 that is just how technology works buddy.

Mine works fine except for the lightning port which is such a pain to deal with now that everything else is usb c.

It is still supported for another two years so calling it obsolete is a bit dramatic even if it is not fast.

Mine gets really hot when I use the new ai features so I just turned them off and now the lag is gone.
