I’ve been checking out the msi pro x870e-p wifi atx am5 motherboard, but I’m not sure about its real-world performance and BIOS stability. Has anyone tested it or used it for daily gaming?

I have my Ryzen 9800X3D build with MSI PRO X870E-P WiFi and it has been fairly good to use in my daily gaming. The X870E chipset, with 14-phase VRM, appears to be good with high-weight CPUs, with the board capable of supporting DDR5 at unbelievable speeds with EXPO. Wi-Fi 7 and USB4 are pleasant additions in the future as well. All you have to do is to update the BIOS and then start to mess around with it there were a few early firmware bugs but most of them have been corrected by MSI recent updates.

It is not a super high-end board such as the X870E Carbon or EDGE/TI series, but that is the point where it is in the mid-to-premium range, having PCIe 5.0, excellent power delivery, and strong features at non-flagship prices. I replaced my previous X670 with an older version and it has not failed me in any gaming, content creation or daily usage. I have had no problems with BIOS post update.

MSI X870E boards of higher caliber were also noted to be a bit idiosyncratic in the BIOS at first (boot problems, memory problems), but largely became less so over time. Do not anticipate a smooth sailing first update to BIOS and proverbially scratch the surface on it in case you are about to run EXPO immediately. However, this board is not an inappropriate choice at the price/performance.

Certain individuals behave as though each MSI board was a curse until you update their BIOS to the latest version I have had no issue whatsoever with the PRO X870E-P WiFi in daily gaming but I did have to take 10 minutes to find the BIOS update before I even got windows installed. Work on it the way motherboard update of Pavlov, update, update.

Nah, to 95 percent of gamers it does not matter. The power delivery and BIOS of the PRO X870E-P are also fine with updates and you receive Wi-Fi 7/USB4 as well. There is no sense of spending additional money on RGB and bells unless it is necessary.

Yes, the MSI Pro X870E-P WiFi is generally worth buying if you want a reliable AM5 motherboard with PCIe 5.0, DDR5, Wi-Fi 7, and strong overall performance at a reasonable price. It’s a solid choice for most builds, though not the most feature-packed option for heavy overclockers.
