I came across the word “hubris” in a book and wanted to understand it better. Can someone explain the hubris meaning and how the hubris meaning is used in literature or everyday language?

Hubris is too much pride or self confidence that usually culminates into the down fall of a given person. This is an archetypal literary element and a treatment of Greek tragedies, such as failures when arrogance by a hero is involved.
