Everytime I try to watch a show on Paramount Plus, it crashes and I got this error code 3005 paramount. Its sooooo Frustrating because my other streaming apps are working just fine like Netflix and Hulu. I've tried that experience the usual "unplug it and plug it back in" Apparently not for my Roku and my router since the error still exists. Is this code about there being a connectivity issue at my end, or is it with a known glitch with the server side of the app itself? I'd love any advice, should I try re-installing the app, or, whether there is some sort of deeper page I need to make some change in my network configuration.

This seems to be a highly widespread problem with the Paramount+ application in particular. Error 3005 normally indicates a failure of the hand shake between the application and streaming server. You have already already rebooted the hardware so you can also attempt the clean install option: uninstall the Paramount+ channel, restart your Roku using the Settings menu, and then re-add the channel. This flushes the local cache that is most of the time the suspect.

Welcome to Paramount Plus experience! It is the sole application that demands blood sacrifice and three router reboots to view ten minutes of a program. The fact that Netflix functions in a perfect way just goes to show that the developers of Paramount must have created their app based on the guidelines that were written at the back of a cereal box.

Error 3005 is a common error in cases where the DRM (Digital Rights Management) has broken or a conflict with an ad-blocker has occurred. When you have a network-wide ad blocker such as Pi-hole installed or Ad-Free enabled on a mesh router (such as Eero or Google WiFi), it is able to block the tracking URLs that the video player requires to start. Attempt to turn off any filters to the network to determine whether the stream is re-emerging.

My Roku was doing this to the point that I started calling it the "Paramount Minus" app. I discovered that when I scream at the television during the transition of the TV when you see the Mountain logo and the actual show, it works with 5% more success. Frankly speaking, it is better that it gave you a code than a blank black screen with a blank stare at you.

Could you be certain that the system clock of your Roku is correct? Should the time be off by the slightest of margins to those of the Paramount servers, then the security certificates will fail and thrown the error 3005. Check under the settings / system / time and ensure that it is set to set automatically. It seems ridiculous, but it is an old fashioned solution to strange server errors.

I have corrected mine by modifying the bandwidth settings! Use up, rewind, fast forward, 5, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2 This gets into a hidden bit-rate menu. I had mine on a certain limit instead of Automatic, and the app did not crash in the middle of the stream! Just try it, you are hacking the Matrix!

I understand your suffering! I dedicated three hours to this support on the phone. One of the things that actually worked out with me was that I changed the Roku to a 2.4GHz band instead of 5GHz Wi-Fi band. The Paramount application is, oddly enough, particularly vulnerable to even the slightest signal interference that Netflix simply does not notice.

Everybody keeps repeating the same thing, reinstall, however, that does not usually last long. The actual problem is the Bandwidth Saver on the Roku. Click on Settings, Network, Bandwidth Saver and switch it off. Paramount app despises that and can easily result into timeouts and throwing of 3005 since it believes that the connection is not busy when it is only buffering.

That is the irony of contemporary streaming, as we have never had as much content as we have at present and are ransomed by a four-digit error code. The 3005 is nothing but a digital barrier between you and your entertainment. The most appropriate remedy is sometimes to take a half-hour stroll and let the servers sort themselves out.
