Why does the YouTube playlist keeps showing updated?

A YouTube playlist showing "updated" means there have been changes to the playlist, its videos, or related metadata. This could include adding, deleting, or editing videos, or changing tags for videos. "Updated" can also refer to changes in the playlist's description or other metadata.

Does anyone know why my YouTube playlist keeps showing updated even when I haven’t added any new videos? I keep seeing the “Updated today” label and it’s confusing.

Yeah, that happens a lot. One reason the YouTube playlist keeps showing updated is when the video creator edits a title, description, or thumbnail. Even small changes can trigger the update tag.

Another reason is removed or hidden videos. If a video in your playlist gets deleted, made private, or age-restricted, YouTube refreshes the playlist and marks it as updated.

I noticed this too on the app. Sometimes the YouTube playlist keeps showing updated just because YouTube reorders videos automatically or updates recommendations tied to the playlist.
