When I was attempting to perform a task online, I received the message that there was an error during the processing of my request reference. I have even tried to refresh and even switched to a different browser but still it appears. And what is this mistake and how shall I correct it?

That message usually means the website’s server hit a problem or blocked your request.

Try these quick fixes:
  • Refresh the page or try again later.
  • Clear browser cache/cookies.
  • Disable VPN or ad-blockers if you use them.
  • If it keeps happening, it’s likely on the site’s end—wait or contact their support.

A common server-side error is this one. It indicates that there was a problem with the website's server attempting to process your request. The developers of the website use the "reference number" to identify the precise problem. Clearing the cache and cookies in your browser is the most popular solution.

Usually, this error means that there is a server-side problem rather than a problem with your device. Trying incognito mode, clearing your cache and cookies, or changing networks could be helpful. If the error is consistent across browsers, it's probably a short-term problem with the website. It usually goes away on its own when you wait and try again later.

The error The error has happened when your request was processed. Reference.. means that the system encountered an interim issue. First of all, refresh the page, clean the cache and cookies of your browser, or switch to another browser. In case it remains, log out and in. In case nothing is working then contact the site or your IT Help Desk.

The message: there was an error that was made in processing your request. ReferenceVery often, when a web page or service is not running properly a temporary problem will be displayed like server overload, bad request, or blocked. The reference code is installed to assist in tracing the problem by the support team of the site. It can be remedied by refreshing the page, clearing cache or attempting a later attempt. In case the error does not disappear, it is possible to resolve the situation by referring to the support of the site with the code.

An error occurred during processing of your request usually means that the server or application has an unforeseen problem in processing your request. It may occur as a result of bad input, overloading of the server, network problems, or internal bugs. The reference ID will most often be used to check logs or contact support and resolve the issue.

Having that error normally implies that the server of the site could not handle your request in the right manner, and that might not be your fault. It may be because of server overload, because of session expiation, or because of the corrupted cache/cookie. To fix it, try:
  • Clear browser cache & cookies.
  • Log out and log in or close the browser.
  • Turn off extensions/VPN which might cause problems.
  • Try incognito mode.
  • Wait and restart again as it may be a server issue.
In case it continues, there must be something wrong with the site itself and you might have to call their support.
