Are G+ Games Still Available or Have They Been Replaced?

I used to play a lot of g+ games, but now I’m not sure if they’re still active or supported. Has anyone found updated versions or good alternatives?

Yeah, you can absolutely breathe some life into that thing. Install a lightweight Linux like Lubuntu or Puppy Linux and you’ll get basic browsing, email, and older games working fine. Just don’t expect Chrome or modern AAA gaming it’ll choke.

It’ll run Windows 11 about as well as a turtle in quicksand But slap on some antelope-class Linux and it might sprint.

The 7600GS only supports up to DirectX 9, so modern 3D apps won’t work. On the OS side, Linux kernels newer than ~5.10 can drop drivers for older chipsets, so pick an older LTS distro.

I use a similar machine as a music player/server. With MPD, it runs perfectly headless no GUI needed.

Be honest: if you want usable modern browsing, it’s going to feel painfully slow even with optimized software.

I’m new to Linux can someone tell me which distro is easiest to install on this sort of old hardware?

Optimized build: Lubuntu 18.04 (no compositing), Midori browser, and swap off. You’ll get acceptable performance for basic tasks, but don’t waste time on anything hardware-accelerated.
