Can Someone Explain Clearly Whether Is Elden Ring Cross Platform or Not?

I want to play with friends on different systems and keep wondering is elden ring cross platform. What platforms support this, if any, and are there limitations?

“Unfortunately, Elden Ring is not cross-platform. PC players can’t join console players, and vice versa. Multiplayer is limited to your platform, so if you’re on Steam, you can only play with other Steam users. Same goes for PlayStation and Xbox. It’s a bummer, but that’s how FromSoftware designed it.”

“Cross-platform Elden Ring? Haha, nope. You and your PS5 friend will just have to fight the same bosses separately and then brag about who died less.”

“The network infrastructure of Elden Ring ties multiplayer sessions to platform-specific servers. That’s why Steam players can’t play with PlayStation or Xbox users. Cross-play isn’t supported, and mods or VPNs aren’t officially recommended.”

“I tried convincing my friends to switch platforms for co-op. It’s a pain, honestly. We ended up all on PC to play together. Definitely wish FromSoftware added cross-play.”

Is there any chance mods or third-party tools could allow cross-platform? I know FromSoftware hasn’t officially added it, but maybe someone figured it out?

I read a few articles claiming ‘partial cross-play’—but they were all misleading. Everything I’ve tried confirms it’s strictly platform-locked.

Wait, so if I’m on Xbox and my friend is on PS5, we literally can’t play together at all? That’s… kinda disappointing for someone new to co-op games like me

Officially, Elden Ring has no cross-platform multiplayer. All online interactions are confined to your platform’s ecosystem. If you’re planning co-op, coordinate which system everyone uses first otherwise, you’re out of luck.
