I’m having trouble solving craftiness nyt in the crossword. Several synonyms fit, but none seem perfect. Does anyone know the most common NYT answer?

Within the context of New York Times, the term craftiness is usually used to mean the clever, deceptive or lateral thought needed to figure out their games. It describes the "aha!" time when you solve a difficult crossword clue or a hint on Wordle.

The hint in the NYT Crossword is that the word Craftiness normally means CUNNING or GUILE, i.e., cleverness, slyness or ability to get something done by cunning or outwitting the opponent.

“Craftiness” in the NYT Crossword usually refers to cleverness, sly skill, or cunning, rather than arts and crafts. The answer often fits words like “guile,” “cunning,” “artfulness,” or “shrewdness,” depending on the puzzle’s letter count and crossings.

Honestly, in NYT crosswords “craftiness” is most often GUILE, they love that one. If not, CUNNING or SLYNESS can pop up depending on the crosses, but my money’s usually on guile.

the most common definition of "craftiness" in NYT crosswords is GUILE; they adore that one. If not, depending on the crossings, CUNNING or SLYNESS may appear, but my bet is typically on guile.
