How can I convert Excel to VCF without installing Microsoft Excel?

I have an Excel (.xlsx) file containing a large number of contacts. I need to convert it into a VCF (vCard) format so I can import it into my phone and email clients. The problem is that I do not have Microsoft Excel installed on my computer. Is there a way to convert Excel files to VCF without using Excel? I am looking for a safe and reliable method that won’t cause data loss.

You don't need Excel for this. Just upload the file to Google Sheets (it's free) and then download it as a CSV. Once it's a CSV, you can use any online converter or even Windows Contacts to turn it into a VCF.

Same issue here. I actually used an online tool called Datablist last week for about 500 contacts and it worked perfectly without me having to install anything. Just be careful with random "free" converters, some of them are sketchy with your data.

If you are on Windows, you can actually do this for free using the built-in "Contacts" folder. You have to save the file as a CSV first (use Google Sheets or LibreOffice to do that). Then import the CSV into your Windows Contacts and hit "Export" as vCard. It’s a bit of a manual process but it’s the safest way since you aren't uploading your private contacts to some random server.

I tried the manual Windows way and it literally took me an hour because I had to map every single field manually. Never again. Honestly, just pay the $20 for a dedicated converter tool if you have more than 100 contacts. Your time is worth more than that.

lol imagine paying for Excel just to export a few phone numbers. Just use an online converter and move on with your life.
