I’m getting a Windows Protection Error on Windows 95 while starting my computer. What causes this Windows Protection Error Windows 95, and how can I resolve it?

That’s a classic old-school issue! 😄 Usually, Windows Protection Errors on Windows 95 happen due to driver conflicts or hardware changes. Try booting in Safe Mode (press F8 during startup) and remove any recently installed hardware drivers. Also, make sure your BIOS settings are correct outdated BIOS versions caused this error back in the day.

Oh wow, Windows 95! Haven’t heard that name in ages 😂 I remember getting that same error when I installed a new sound card. Removing and reinstalling the driver fixed it for me. Sometimes even a simple reinstall of Windows 95 was faster than troubleshooting!

Honestly, I’ve been fighting this error for two days and I’m about to throw this PC out the window 😤. Tried Safe Mode, removing RAM sticks, everything. I think my motherboard just hates me. Why can’t old Windows just work?!

Windows 95 giving you “Protection Errors”? Maybe it just needs better antivirus... or therapy 😂 But seriously, check if you added any new hardware. I once got this error because of a faulty RAM stick replaced it, and poof, problem solved.

If you’re still stuck, try disabling CPU cache in BIOS weirdly enough, it often helps with Windows Protection Errors on older processors. Once you boot successfully, you can turn it back on. It’s a known workaround from the Windows 95 era.
