If you’re using the SMSL M3 on Windows 11, it’s actually pretty simple. I’ve used similar DACs, and most of them are plug-and-play. Just connect it via USB and Windows should detect it automatically; then go to Sound Settings → Output and select “SMSL USB DAC.” If it doesn’t show up or you want better stability, download the official USB driver from SMSL’s website, install it, and restart your PC. After that, you can also set it as the default and tweak the sample rate in Sound Control Panel → Properties → Advanced for the best audio quality.
