How Does a LinkedIn Text Formatter Change the Look and Reach of Posts?

I've noticed posts with unique fonts and symbols and found out they use a linkedin text formatter. Are they really beneficial to engagement, or can it have an adverse effect on the readability and accessibility?

The vast majority of people scroll over them. When I see a post where every other word is in some weird cursive from a LinkedIn text formatter, I just think it’s a cheap sales pitch. It is as though it is pleading to be noticed, and not like a professional.

It must make the job of dividing those long plain texts a lot easier. I just use a LinkedIn text formatter to bold my headings or pop out bullet points. However, when you get too much with fancy fonts, then even screen readers that are used by individuals with visual deficiencies cannot read them. Use it, okay, to make layout, not to make looks.

Used one of those tools last week, and my reach actually decreased. I suppose that the algorithm marks some Unicode characters as spam or gibberish. Keep it simple bold when you have the new editor, however when you have the old editor you are just taking a gamble on your feed.

Dare I to imagine that I can even read that stuff of circle letters on my old Android. Whenever they do appear most of the time they appear as those X boxes. To be reachable, write something better rather than making your “Growth Mindset post a ransom note.

Know whether LinkedIn will ban this? Heard some rumor that they will begin removing posts that contain non-standard characters since those will interfere with their search indexing. When the search bar is unable to understand your words in the form of fancy symbols, then you are practically invisible.
