How does the Rewatch Indicator work on Stories I post to Snapchat?

I noticed a rewatch indicator on my Snapchat Stories and I’m not sure what it means. How does Snapchat track rewatches, and can I see who rewatched my Story? Does the rewatch count include my own views or only friends’ views? Also, does a higher rewatch indicator affect Story reach or visibility?

Rewatch Indicator features on Snapchat indicate the number of times that your friends have watched your Story. It lists several views by the same individual, which provides an insight into the most interesting content. Nevertheless, it does not show that it was a particular person who rewatched your Story, it just displays the total rewatches.
