Can someone explain how to connect Bluetooth headphones to PS5 properly? I tried pairing directly, but it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve heard adapters may be required. Please share working solutions for wireless audio on PS5 with minimal delay.

All you need to do is to purchase a USB Bluetooth device such as the Creative BT-W3 or the Avantree C81. Instead of using the PS5 or the console to pair your headphones, you plug it in the front USB of the PS5 and pair your headphones with the dongle. To PS5, it is a wired USB headset hence works perfectly.

You do not have to spend money on purchasing any new item, you can simply plug your headphones on the TV. As PS5 passes the audio to the TV through HDMI the sound will simply be redirected to your headphones. This only works when your TV does support Bluetooth inbuilt though.

You can access the PS Remote Play app on your phone as an intermediate. Turn on the app on your phone and connect it to your PS5 and pair your phone headphones with your phone. You receive the audio of the game on the phone and continue playing with your monitor or TV.

The official method of doing it is by simply obtaining the Pulse 3D or the new Pulse Elite headsets. They also have their own special USB dongles that operate on a special wireless frequency rather than normal Bluetooth and hence there is practically no lag.

The majority are not aware that it is possible to use a 3.5mm Bluetooth transmitter. It is plugged to the bottom of your DualSense controller jack. It is fairly heavy as an attachment to the remote, but a low-cost solution to utilizing the earbuds you already have.

Get an adapter with aptX Low Latency in case you are concerned with lag. The delay experienced with normal Bluetooth is generally small and not worth using to play shooters or rhythms. When you have a dongle that supports aptX and your headphones do that you will not notice it.

The PS5 settings have to be checked after connecting a dongle. Adjust to Sound and then to Audio Output and ensure that the Output device is changed to USB Headset. It does not automatically switch at times and individuals believe that the adapter is not functioning.

Now, all you need to know is that the vast majority of bluetooth adapters will not allow you to use your headphone microphone to chat at a party. Most of the time you are required to use the inbuilt mic on the DualSense controller and the sound is relayed through your headphones.

There are also more expensive gaming headsets such as the Steel Series Arctis Nova 7 which have their own multi-platform dongle. I only upgrade anyway and so I would just get one of those since they are compatible with PS5 and PC and do not require an additional setup.

The PS5 doesn’t support Bluetooth audio directly. To use Bluetooth headphones, connect them with a USB Bluetooth adapter, or use the PS5 controller’s 3.5mm jack (wired), or pair them with your TV/monitor instead.
