How to convert Google Contacts CSV file into VCF format properly?

To convert a Google Contacts CSV file into VCF format properly, first export contacts from Google Contacts using the Google CSV option. After that, you are able to convert your Google CSV into a vCard. But if you do it manually, it can be time-consuming, and if you want the fast and safe contact conversion, then you need an advanced feature, CSV to VCF Converter. I can suggest an expert solution that is known as WholeClear CSV to VCF Converter Software, which offers the bulk contact migration feature that helps to transfer thousands of contact files in one go and provides accurate results. It ensures all contact fields, like names, phone numbers, and email fields, are correctly mapped. Plus, the software allows easy field mapping and shows a preview before conversion, reducing errors. After converting, the VCF file can be imported smoothly into Android, iPhone, iCloud, or Outlook without formatting or data loss issues. The best and most user-trusted solution built for all Windows users. Anyone can effortlessly use and download it for free for limited access.

I get this error message when using the manual import on my iPhone. If I try to drag the CSV it just shows up as a text file. If I use a dedicated CSV to VCF Converter on my Windows laptop it works fine. Does anyone know why Google makes the CSV so messy?

Same here. It really sucks. I tried the manual method using Windows Contacts and it literally stripped all the email addresses. If you have thousands of files, definitely look into that software you mentioned or something similar because doing this one by one in a text editor is a nightmare. I wasted 3 hours today just to end up with a corrupted VCF.

I cannot believe this is still a problem. The developers at Google and Apple must be some of the most braindead people ever. How can they not have a "Save as VCard" button directly in the export? You export a Google CSV and then have to jump through ten hoops just to get it on an iPhone. I swear I want to send a bill for my time to whoever designed this "system."

Try the steps below for your device:
  1. Export as Google CSV.
  2. Import into a Gmail account on the target device.
  3. If that fails, use a third-party converter to handle the field mapping.
  4. Check for special characters in your CSV as they usually break the VCF headers.

Tried the manual steps and it's still missing half the phone numbers, any other suggestions for a bulk fix?

The only thing left is to use a professional tool like the one you mentioned. Google's headers don't match standard VCF 3.0 or 4.0 specs, so you need something that actually maps the columns.

Having the same issue. I thought I was crazy. Sometimes when I import the VCF to iCloud it says the file is invalid even though it came straight from a converter.

This just happened to me for the first time. The first time in 10 years makes it weird. I think they updated the CSV format recently and broke the old converters.

I know this is old but just wanted to say I encountered this issue today and once I used a proper converter software with field mapping, everything worked fine again. Don't bother with the "import to Outlook" trick, it's a waste of time.
