How to customize character personalities on pinku ai for better interaction?

I’ve been experimenting with pinku ai to create some anime-style companions, but I’m finding the personality settings a bit restrictive. I want to create a character that has a very specific "tsundere" vibe or a specialized knowledge base, but the AI often defaults to generic responses after a few turns. Does anyone have tips for the "Prompt" or "Advanced Settings" section on the site? I’ve noticed that some users have characters that seem much more "alive" and reactive to specific scenarios. If there are any community-shared templates or specific tags that work well to influence the bot's behavior over a long session, please let me know!

The best way to fix the generic loop is using the bracket method in the advanced prompt box. Instead of writing a paragraph just list traits like [Personality: stubborn, defensive, secretly soft] and [Speech: blunt, uses "baka", avoids eye contact]. It keeps the AI from wandering off.

You should definitely try the example dialogue section if it has one. Write out 5 or 6 exchanges exactly how you want them to sound. If you don't show the AI how to be a tsundere it just reverts to a standard assistant mode after ten minutes.

Honestly just use another bot. Pinku is okay but the memory for specific personalities always fades unless you keep reminding it in the chat itself using OOC commands.

Try adding a "Core Directives" line at the top of your prompt. Tell it something like "Never apologize" or "Always stay in character" and it helps stop that robotic "I am an AI" transition.

Focus on the backstory more than the traits. If the bot knows why it is acting cold it handles the tsundere shift much better. Give it a specific memory or secret that only comes out when you hit a certain trust level.

Has anyone tried using the "Scenario" box for this? I find that if you set a very strict scene like "trapped in a room" the character stays more focused on their specific personality because the context is limited.

This gets asked every week just search the sub. Use short sentences in the prompt and avoid words like "nice" or "helpful" because the AI over-prioritizes those and ruins the vibe.

I use a template where I define the likes and dislikes very clearly. If the character has a specific hobby or specialized knowledge you have to list the actual terms and jargon they would use otherwise they just sound like a Wikipedia page.
