I’m studying statistics and need help with how to find the range of a data set. I understand it involves maximum and minimum values, but I want a simple explanation with examples. If possible, explain how this works in Excel as well. This will help with my assignments.

In statistics, the range is the basic variability measure that can be used to describe variability in statistics and that can be calculated as the difference between the largest and smallest items in the data set to indicate how spread about the data is.
