My laptop suddenly has no audio output. I checked volume and drivers but nothing seems to work. This issue started after a recent update. How do I fix sound not working Windows problem?

Fix sound issues in Microsoft Windows by checking volume and mute settings, selecting the correct playback device, updating audio drivers, restarting audio services, and running the built-in troubleshooter. Also inspect cables or Bluetooth connections to ensure hardware is properly connected and functioning.

If sound isn’t working on your Windows PC, start with the basics: make sure volume isn’t muted and the correct output device (speakers or headphones) is selected from the sound icon in the taskbar. Restart your computer, then check Settings > System > Sound to confirm the right device is set as default. If the issue persists, run the built-in troubleshooter, update or reinstall your audio drivers from Device Manager, and ensure no external device or Bluetooth setting is interfering with playback.

If you can't hear audio on Windows, check volume settings and unmute. Reboot the computer and driver update via Device Manager. Make sure the right audio device is chosen in Sound settings. You can also use the Windows troubleshooter to automatically resolve audio problems.
