How to identify who blocked you on Instagram without using third-party apps?

I’m trying to identify who blocked me on Instagram after some chats disappeared. Their profile doesn’t show up in search anymore. Does this always mean an Instagram block, or could it be something else?

You can identify if someone blocked you on Instagram by searching for their username, checking old messages where their profile may appear unavailable, or noticing you can’t view their posts or follow them anymore—all without using third-party apps.

Not always a block, if their chats vanished and you can’t find the profile, it could be a block, but it might also mean they deactivated or deleted their account. Try checking from another account or a friend’s phone to be sure.

You can’t see a direct list, but signs include: their profile doesn’t appear in search, past messages show “User not found,” and mutual friends can still view their profile while you can’t.

You can identify an Instagram block by searching the user’s profile—if it doesn’t appear or shows “User not found,” you may be blocked. Check old comments or messages; their profile won’t be clickable. Visiting their profile from another account can confirm if the account still exists and has blocked you.

To find out whether you are being blocked on Instagram, you can search their username, in case no results are found. Check previous chats, comments or tags; when their profile indicates User not found and the content has vanished then this is a good reason to suspect that they have blocked you.
