How to install a second SSD?

Hi everyone, I want to upgrade my PC and add more storage. Can someone explain how to install a second SSD safely? I’m looking for step-by-step instructions, including mounting, connecting, and formatting it so I can use it alongside my current drive.

First of all, you must:

1) Power down your PC and unplug it from the socket.
2) Take off the cover and look for an available SATA or M.2 slot, depending on what kind of SSD you have.
3) Put the SSD in the slot or on the bracket.
4) Attach it with a SATA cable (if it's a SATA) and connect the power cable.
5) Put the cover back on, power up the PC, and create a new volume/format the SSD in Disk Management. That's it.

How to install a second SSD
  • Power off PC and unplug
  • Open the case
  • Connect SSD (SATA cable + power, or insert M.2)
  • Close case and power on
  • Go to Disk Management → initialize & format the SSD

Turn off and unplug your PC. Open the case, locate an empty SSD slot, and install the SSD. Connect SATA or NVMe cables if needed. Secure it, close the case, power on, then initialize the drive in Disk Management.

Switch off, disconnect and de-energize. Attach the M.2 SSD to the slot or attach a SATA SSD using cables. In the last step, initialize and format the drive using Disk management.

To install a second SSD, power off your computer and unplug it. Open the case, then locate an available SATA or M.2 slot. Secure the SSD in place, connect it to the motherboard (and power supply for SATA). Close the case, power on, and format the drive in your operating system.
