How To Know If Someone Blocked You On iMessage?

Anyone know how to tell if someone has blocked you on iMessage? I’ve been trying to message someone, but it doesn’t seem to go through, and I’m wondering if I’ve been blocked. Any advice on how to check would be super helpful!

From my experience, there’s no official alert, but these signs usually mean someone blocked you on iMessage:
  • Your messages never show “Delivered”.
  • iMessage bubbles stay blue, but no read receipts appear (if they were on before).
  • Calls to them go straight to voicemail.
  • You can’t see their profile picture or status updates anymore.
None of these alone is 100% proof, but if several happen at once, it’s likely you’ve been blocked.

To check if someone blocked you on iMessage, look for these signs: your messages show “Delivered” or remain unsent, iMessage bubbles stay blue, calls go straight to voicemail, and you no longer see read receipts. These signs aren’t foolproof, but combined, they suggest a possible block.

These indications tell you whether a person blocked you in iMessage:

  • Messages remain blue and never sent out to the recipient- neither the Delivered or Read messages show up.
  • Calls are sent to voicemail directly- iPhone calls are ringing once or not at all.
  • No profile updates- You are not able to see how they change their status and photo.
  • These are not infallible, the individual can have network problems, or his/her settings have been altered.

If somebody blocked you on iMessage, your texts will stay blue (sent as iMessage) but show no “Delivered” or “Read” receipts, your calls will go straight to voicemail, and FaceTime won’t connect.

You can't know for sure whether someone blocked you, but there are a few signs that they may have done so: Your iMessages remain "Delivered" or don't show "Delivered" at all, calls go directly to voicemail, and you don't see their profile picture or status updates. Keep in mind, these could also occur if their phone is off, or they don't have any signal.

To verify whether you have been blocked by a person on iMessage, send a message and observe the status. You may be blocked in case it remains blue without any indication of either Delivered or Read. Another potential block indicator is also to make a call, where either it goes directly to the voicemail or where it rings once.

You can tell if someone blocked you on iMessage if your messages show as “Delivered” missing, remain green (SMS), or stop showing “Read” receipts. Calls may go straight to voicemail, and FaceTime attempts may fail consistently.

To verify that someone blocked you on iMessage, watch the following indicators: your messages appear as delivered, or they are not delivered at all, iMessage bubbles are always left blue, calls are just transferred to voicemail, and you do not see read receipts anymore. These clues are not conclusive, but when they are all put together, they indicate a potential block.
