How to opt out of meta AI on Instagram app?

There is no full opt-out available right now. But you can mute the Meta AI chat via the chat window.

• Tap the AI icon
• “i”
• Mute messages
• Until I change it

Also, make your account private, which prevents future content from being used for AI training.

Meta must allow users to opt out of their data being used to train AI models:

1. Open Settings and Activity > Privacy Center inside Instagram.
2. Navigate to AI at Meta.
3. Click Submit an objection request.
4. Enter your email address and details regarding the impact of AI on your privacy.
5. Submit the request.

There is no direct option to disable Meta AI completely in the Instagram app yet. But you can definitely “mute” or “limit” it. Open Meta AI in the search bar, then tap on the info icon in the upper corner. You can close Meta AI temporarily or permanently by selecting the “Mute” option from there. If you are a user from Europe or UK, then you get the option to prevent your data from being used for AI training by going to the privacy section in the settings.

You can't fully "opt out" of Meta AI on Instagram, especially in the US. However, you can mute its chat by tapping the blue AI icon in the search bar, then the "i" (info) icon, and selecting "Mute until I change it." You can also set your profile to private to limit future data use.
