I want to restart explorer.exe but I am not sure about the correct steps. The system UI is not responding properly. How can I safely restart explorer.exe without restarting the whole system? Any simple steps would be helpful.

@Audry, honestly, wait, you can restart explorer.exe by pressing ctrl + shift + esc, then details tab, find explorer.exe, right click, end task, and it should restart, tbh, actually, with 2026 tech trends, like windows 11 updates, this method should work

honestly, i think you should follow the steps that angelinafi mentioned, it's pretty straightforward, and with the latest windows 11 updates in 2026, restarting explorer.exe should be a breeze, wait, let me just clarify the process for you

i totally get it, honestly, it can be frustrating when sys ui isn't responding, wait, have you tried pressing ctrl + shift + esc, then details tab, and restarting explorer.exe, tbh, with the latest windows 11 updates in 2026, this should work just fine

wait, so you're telling me that pressing ctrl + shift + esc, then details tab, and restarting explorer.exe is the solution, honestly, i've heard that before, but does it really work with the latest windows 11 updates in 2026, tbh, i'm still a bit skeptical

honestly, i'm still not convinced, wait, doesn't the new windows 11 update in 2026 have a task manager revamp that should make restarting explorer.exe easier, tbh, i think we need more clarification on this
