Is an Uber really cheaper than a taxi?

I’m trying to decide between booking an Uber or a regular taxi for my daily travel. Prices seem to vary depending on time and location. Is Uber generally cheaper, or does it depend on surge pricing and distance?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no—it depends on the city, time, and surge pricing. Uber can sometimes be cheaper, but if it is peak hours or surge pricing, taxis may be cheaper. Always check the rates first.

Usually Uber is cheaper, but it really depends, during peak hours or surge pricing, a regular taxi can actually cost less. For short, off-peak rides, Uber often wins, but it’s always smart to compare both before booking.

Often yes, Uber can be cheaper than traditional taxis because of dynamic pricing and lower fees, but it depends on demand, time of day, and surge pricing in your area.
