Is PS5 backwards compatible?

Before upgrading, I need to know, is PS5 backwards compatible with PS4 discs and digital games? Is PS5 backwards compatible with older generations like PS3 as well? It would really help to understand clearly if is PS5 backwards compatible overall.

Yeah, it works for like 99% of the PS4 library. I just popped in my old God of War disc and it worked fine. Just a heads up, if you get the Digital Edition PS5, your old discs are basically coasters since there's nowhere to put them.
