People keep asking when Trump is giving out $2000 where did this claim even come from?

I’ve noticed a lot of posts lately asking “when is trump giving out $2000”, and it made me curious about where this idea actually started. Some people in comment sections are talking about a supposed payment or stimulus related to Donald Trump, but I can’t find anything official confirming it.

I checked a few news pages and even searched through updates on Fox News and CNN, but there doesn’t seem to be any announcement about a $2000 payment tied to him recently. Most of the posts I’m seeing look like short clips or screenshots without context.

Does anyone know where this rumor started? I’m wondering if it came from an old stimulus discussion that people are misinterpreting.

"Lol people seem to forget it was actually $200, not $2000, and that was from the Biden stimulus package, not Trump. Guess that's just a fun fact to Google instead of getting actual info from sources"

"Dude, I think this started with a rumor from a satirical article back in '19, but I'm no expert. Does anyone know if this claim has been perpetuated by any specific political group or movement?"

"Lol, I think I found the source of the myth - a 2020 tweet from a guy named @TheRealKarlS that got misinterpreted & blown out of proportion. Anyone else see this? Did it really spread so far before being debunked?"

"Hey OP, I think this rumor might've originated from a misleading Facebook post from Jan 2020, claiming Trump would give $2000 to Americans as part of the COVID relief package. Has anyone dug deeper into similar social media posts from back then?"

"I think it might've originated from a misinterpretation of Trump's 2020 'planned economy' speech, where he mentioned '$2,000 a month to every citizen.' But yeah, people got stuck on the '$2,000' part, not realizing it was about stimulus payments, not direct handouts." What do you guys think about how misinformation spreads on the internet?

"Idk if it's ever been confirmed what specifically sparked this rumor, but I think it might've started with a conspiracy theory claiming he was planning to use it for stimulus during the early days of COVID. Anyone else heard that one?"

"Dude, I think this '2000' claim started from some QAnon nonsense, but I'm not sure. Anyone remember where they first heard it? Was it from a specific tweet, video, or podcast?"

"Lol, this one's been going around for ages. I think it came from a 2020 tweet from a fake news site, but I've also seen it linked to some QAnon posts. Has anyone found any actual sourcing that's more credible than these?"

"Lol, I think I found the source - it's from a 2020 Trump campaign email that sent a mailer to some Florida voters, offering $2,000 if they could collect signatures for the campaign. Anyone know if this was a legit effort to boost voter registration or just a weird campaign stunt?"
