PS5 controller disconnects randomly during games is this a hardware fault?

My DualSense controller will also disconnect every 10-20 minutes during a game the controller will display the console is reconnecting. PS5 is updated. It also displays most current controller firmware. I used a wired USB-C extender cable to play and tried to place the cable directly onto PS5 (also the same issue). Tested another DualSense and it works perfectly on the same PS5 so it seems to be this specific controller. Restarting the controller (pressing the tiny pin reset) and reconnecting with Bluetooth still does not connect. How to possibly tell whether the controller has a USB-C port issue or an internal battery? Worthwhile to send back to warranty repair? Purchased the controller 9 months back.

Since your another controller works fine, it’s likely a hardware issue with your DualSense, possibly the USB-C port or internal battery. Yes, it’s worth sending it for warranty repair.
