What internet speed do I need for gaming?

I recently started playing multiple games but I am struggling with high ping. Can anybody help me find out the correct internet speed required for gaming?

To achieve the goal for smooth online gaming, therefore, the following should be considered:
  • 5–10 Mbps minimum (casual gaming).
  • 15–25 Mbps for competitive/multiplayer (low latency).
  • Ping (<50ms) is crucial—fiber or cable recommended.
More than 50 Mbps is useful when others are also connected to the network.

To play games without interruptions, you should maintain at least 10-20 Mbps download speed together with 3-5 Mbps upload speed alongside a ping value under 50 50ms. Cloud gaming requires 15-50 Mbps. A streaming connection should achieve at least 10 Mbps upload speed. A wired connection offers the best combination of low lag and reliable system stability. Better gameplay occurs when jitter is reduced alongside improved packet loss performance.

For a good gaming experience, aim for at least 25 Mbps download speed and 5 Mbps upload speed, but for smoother online multiplayer, especially competitive games, 100 Mbps or higher is recommended.
