I encountered a system error mentioning ftdibus.sys. What does this file do and why would it crash or cause issues? Is it related to drivers or hardware? Looking for a fix.

ftdibus.sys is a Windows driver used by FTDI USB-to-serial devices (like adapters, Arduino boards, etc.), and it basically helps your PC communicate with that hardware. Errors usually happen when the driver is outdated, corrupted, or conflicts with Windows updates or other drivers. I’ve personally seen it crash systems after plugging in a cheap USB adapter with bad drivers. Updating or reinstalling the FTDI driver, or removing problematic devices, usually fixes it.

ftdibus.sys is a system driver from FTDI (Future Technology Devices International) used for USB-to-serial devices. Errors occur due to outdated or corrupted drivers, device conflicts, or malware impersonation, leading to crashes, blue screens, or connectivity issues on Windows systems devices.
